Placemat with Dantela Lace Corners:
This heirloom placemat with standalone lace corners has been created by Bobbie Berry. Bobbie, thank you so much for the beautiful project!
The lace corners are from Dantela Lace set.
They've been embroidered on water soluble backing, then machine sewn to rose linen tablemap. Only after attaching the lace corner, the backing was washed away, leaving a clean and beautiful cloth.
To embroider the laces, Bobbie used ThreaDelight matching color top & bobbin thread, and water soluble backing fabric.
Required supplies:
Dantela Lace designs (available here...)
Water soluble backing - preferably fabric-type water soluble (available here...)
Temporary adhesive spray (available here...)
Strong poly embroidery thread for the lace design. You may use regular poly thread, but if your machine takes L-size bobbins, we highly recommend you to get a special thread kit with prewound bobbins in matching colors. It will save you plenty of time. Lace designs are stitch-intensive and take a lot of bobbin thread.
Be sure to read through our lace-making instruction that comes along with your lace designs order. It will explain in clear and detailed manner, how to embroider lace designs properly and how to attach them to garments.
