Floral Appliqued Denim Skirt
These lovely jeans skirt has been embroidered by Darla Simmons. Darla, thank you for the beautiful project!
Darla embroidered the flowers on skirt using APPLIQUE Pastel Tulips embroidery designs. And here are a few words from Darla herself:
"This project was so much fun. Denim is a great medium for machine embroidery, especially when you have designs as nice as these are.
I started with one of my old denim skirts, I found scrap fabric and decided on my thread colors.
I was pleasantly surprised how simple the applique is to do. Once I read the easy directions, I was off and sewing, and I think the results are gorgeous, especially for a novice like me.
I used CORNER & VIGNETTE designs from Pastel Tulips collection. I used light green, dark green, light pink and dark pink threads for the designs. I used one layer of heavy tearaway stabilizer, which may be replaced by two layers of medium tearaway. This design is beautiful and rewarding. I did this! WOW."

Tips:
1. You may wonder why to use 2-3 layers of thin tearaway and not one heavy layer. The reason is simple - when you tear away thick pieces of stabilizer, the stitches might be distorted. However, if you tear away thin layers, one after another - nothing will harm the design.
